New York City definitely does not have a shortage of design inspiration for decorators in Manhattan. It’s no wonder that the city is home to some of the most well-appointed apartments in the world. From the iconic buildings to the famous terrain of Central Park to the many amazing art museums, the city has its fill of aesthetic inspiration. Shopping here is no different – both tiny boutiques and multi-level big box stores provide awesome sources of sofas, lighting fixtures, throw pillows, area rugs and everything in between for those who are looking for home design goods. No matter if you’re a resident or just visiting for a spell, here are some great home decor shops that you should check out!

Delphinium Home

Delphinium Home was opened in 1996 by two musical theatre performers who wanted to create their own unique business. They saw a need in the city for a retail store that sold unique cards, gifts and home design wares and so they opened up shop in Hell’s Kitchen in midtown Manhattan. They have since expanded to a large home accessories store on 9th Avenue in Manhattan, which has become a staple for locals and tourists. It’s a great spot to pick up some quirky and unique home gifts.

The Future Perfect

The Future Perfect, located in the gorgeous West Village neighborhood on Great Jones Street, is one of three locations that the store owners operate. It was founded in 2003 as one of the world’s foremost contemporary design galleries. It’s not your average furniture store – you’ll feel like you’re wandering through a museum as you take in some of the design works by famous artists that have since become collector’s items. You can purchase from their eclectic mix of contemporary production and gallery pieces shown together under one roof.
